Friday - Day 5

Welcome to assessment day First Graders! 

Today you will meet one on one with your teacher so that you can see how you are doing with Part +Part =Whole.

For the first part of this you will be given a math mat that we used on the first two days. You will then be give a series of numbers to put in the part, part, whole spots on your mat. To practice you can use the following numbers:

#3 and #6=

#2 and #5=

#9 and #4=

For the second part of the assessment you will be asked to make up and solve two story problems using some of the numbers from above.

For example: I have 3 cookies, and my friend Kim has 6 cookies. How many cookies do we have all together?

During the time that you are making your story problems you will be on video. We are going to do this so that you can later watch it and see how you created and solved the problem.

PARENTS:

To help your students prepare for this assessment you can create a math mat using a paper plate and any manipulative you can find: Gummy bears, coffee beans, small toys...ect.
